For those of you who love a good fried chicken, you might like to try our family favorite.
Ingredients:
7 - 8 pieces of chicken thighs or legs
2 tsp. salt
½ Tb. Garlic powder
½ Tb. pepper
3 eggs
Dash of milk
Dash of hot sauce
2 cups of self rising flour or regular flour
1 tsp salt
1 Tb. Baking powder
Instructions:
- Heat frying oil in pan or deep fryer.
- Take the skin off pieces of chicken thighs or legs.
- Mix 2 tsp. salt, ½ Tab. Garlic powder, ½ Tab. pepper
- Coat chicken with the spices
- Put eggs, a dash of milk, and a dash of hot sauce (enough to make the egg mixture look orange) in a bowl and beat till well combined.
- In a plastic bag, put 2 cups of self rising flour. If you don't have self-rising flour, use 2 cups flour, 1 tsp salt and 1 Tab. Baking powder
- Dip the chicken in the egg mixture then put in the bag with the flour.
- Shake the bag
- Remove chicken and place in the hot oil
- Fry approx. 20 min or until it is 160 temp and fluids run clear.
- Fry as many as your pan will hold.
Pair this meal with a good salad and a steamed vegetable and you have wonderful dinner for the family!
